Easy Christmas Bars

Marcy’s Magical Christmas Bars: A Sweet Tradition

I’m reminded of a cherished tradition that has warmed my heart for years. Today, I want to share with you not just a recipe, but a piece of my childhood – the Santa Claus Dessert Bars, a recipe passed down from my beloved grandmother, Sara. She always used to tell me, Marcy, he (refering to my cousin) needed his chocolate bar, or even at Easter time, well, he needs his Easter Bunny!!

  1. Unwrap the waffle bars. Lay them out on a board. In a water bath, melt the white chocolate. Pour it into a syringe. Draw the outline of Santa’s beard and the brim of his hat. Fill the beard with chocolate. Sprinkle coconut shavings over the design. Wait for the coconut shavings to set and brush off any coconut shavings that are not adhered.

2- Return the remaining chocolate to the bead. Add 1 drop of colorant to the chocolate and stir. You should get a light pink color. Draw the face of Santa Claus.  Place the dragee eyes and nose on the hot chocolate. Wait for the drawing to stabilize. You can send the bars to the refrigerator for a while.

  1. Add 3 more drops of dye to the chocolate to make the color more saturated. Draw the outline of the future Santa’s hat. Place the marshmallow pompon on the outline.
  2. Fill the hat with red chocolate and decorate with sprinkles or snowflakes. Chill the finished bars for 1 hour in the refrigerator and serve.

Serve this dessert with hot coffee or chocolate drinks. If you are planning a candy board for a party, these Santas will be the cutest and most sought after on the board. You can package them beautifully and give them as Christmas gifts or treats to your coworkers. Have a happy and sweet Christmas!
